Sustainability means a lot to us. It is not just about Kraft paper boxes. We've been working hard to integrate sustainability in the DNA of our products. From using recyclable materials, to sustainable sourcing and carbon offsets, we're actively working on every aspect of sustainability. Here is how.

REDUCE

99.7% PLASTIC FREE.

We've been doing the impossible to reduce our footprint by only using recyclable materials and avoiding plastic at all means. We are proud to say that our products contain less than 1% plastic and our packaging is fully compostable. LINEDOCK is one of the first consumer electronics brand to ditch shrink wrap too : we realised that the 3 seconds of satisfaction weren't worth the 400 years it takes to decompose. You're welcome.

REUSE

JUST LIKE NEW.

Built as a LEGO-tank, LINEDOCK is very user-friendly and each part is fully repairable and replaceable. Like a good old car, we can simply fix what's broken.

Our Re/Furb Program aims at reducing electronic waste by giving a second life to returned products and tier 2 spare parts. All Re/Furb products come with a 1 Year warranty, and are packaged in a brand new box.
Read more about our Re/Furb Program here.

Fancy a new case or a new battery ? We're happy to ship you over some replacement parts too.

RECYCLE

NO TRASH.

Consumer electronics such as LINEDOCK are made of a wide range of materials, including precious metals and minerals.
Ensuring the recycling of these materials allow them to be reused as raw materials in a broad range of industries. Our Aluminum cases are fully recyclable and we have just teamed up with Bebat to recycle our batteries.

OFFSET

CARBON ZERO.

LINE is a Climate Neutral Certified brand. This means that we've measured our 2021 carbon emissions, offset them, and are now committed to reducing future emissions.

LINE is a Climate Neutral Certified brand. This means that we've measured our 2020 carbon emissions, offset them, and are now committed to reducing future emissions.

Step 1 : Measure

HOW CARBON OFFSETTING WORKS

We first started by measuring the entire carbon footprint our business activity generates, from resource extraction to finished product delivery. These are called Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon emissions.

The climate neutral certification does not include a Scope 4 of emissions from use and disposal of our products but we feel like it deserves its own paragraph. This is where you, as a customer can play a role. First off, by getting a factory-reconditioned LINEDOCK instead of buying a new one. Second, by getting in touch with our support team if you experience any issue with your product, so we can replace what's broken or ship you some replacement parts.Third, by making sure you are returning your device using only recyclable material for shipping (no bubble, foam, or plastic enclosures for shipping documents). Looking at a broader picture too, by purchasing a LINEDOCK you are avoiding purchasing at least 5 consumer technology accessories you would have otherwise purchased.

Step 2 : Offset

We offset our entire 2021 carbon footprint by supporting three projects focused on conserving forest ecosystems in Indonesia, Brazil, and the US.

Project 2: Amazonia Forestry (Brazil)

Project 3: Minnesota Forest Conservation (United States)

Step 3 : Reduce

The journey does not stop here. We're committed to further reduce our 2021 footprint by purchasing green electricity for the office and by requesting all our stakeholders (customers too!) to only use recyclable and compostable packing and packaging supplies for spare parts shipping (no more plastic tape, bubble wrap, shrink wrap). We're also actively working on sourcing greener materials and parts.

What do you mean by plastic-free ?

We literally mean that putting all parts together (case, motherboard, battery, all spare parts and the packaging), there is no more than 0.34% of plastic.

Less is more, but why ?

In its essence, a LINEDOCK is meant to gather everything you need aside from your MacBook in a compact, beautiful and minimal way.
Instead of getting several different devices, you're buying one single item. You're actively reducing your e-consumption doing so.

Where can I find about your carbon footprint?

We are Climate Neutral committed brand.You can read more about our commitment on climateneutral.org/brand/linedock

What can I do as an individual ?

A lot ! But here are a few examples to start off when you're shopping tech online...

- Spend some time doing some research about a company before buying;

- Opt for Standard Shipping over Expedited Shipping;

- Opt for Collection Points over Home Delivery;

- Buy Second-hand instead of Brand New (make sure to check the warranty!);

- Buy local.

I have an idea for you.

Yeah! Send your tips to Oliver (oliver@linedock.co).

What's a carbon credit ?

A carbon credit is a standard unit which represents carbon emission reductions. One credit equals one tCO2e (tCO2e stands for tonnes (t) of carbon dioxide (CO2) equivalent (e). People who eliminate GHG emissions can generate and sell carbon credits. People who want to offset their emissions can buy carbon credits. Carbon credits are generated through a variety of projects and technologies, ranging from reforestation initiatives that sequester (suck up) CO2, to micro-grid solar projects which substitute fossil fuel-based energy production with reliable clean sources of energy that don’t emit greenhouse gases into our atmosphere.
